This research is motivated by the important role of a madrasa principal in improving teacher performance in madrasas. The problem formulated in this study is how the principal's leadership in improving the performance of the SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA South Lampung teachers. This study aims to determine, analyze and describe in depth how the leadership of the madrasah principal in improving the performance of SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA South Lampung teachers. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data sources consist of primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the data using source triangulation and technique/method triangulation. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the leadership of the madrasah principal of SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA is considered good because it has carried out leadership in accordance with the needs of the madrasa organization, especially in improving teacher performance. The interesting thing about the leadership of the madrasah principal at SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA is the inverted pyramid leadership pattern, namely the leader who places himself as a servant. This has a significant impact on improving teacher performance at SMA NEGERI 2 MENGGALA South Lampung.
