Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the principal's leadership based on his emotional intelligence. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive nature that will describe and describe the research data by using the analysis of data poles. The results of the study found that the ability of the Principal of SMP Sunan Ampel Punggur Central Lampung in carrying out primal leadership was very good. This is proven based on triangulation of data and sources. The principal of SMP Sunan Ampel Punggur, Central Lampung, is highly committed to his vision for the future, especially during stressful times or in the midst of increasing responsibilities. The principal of SMP Sunan Ampel Punggur Central Lampung as a form of leadership based on emotional intelligence is classified as good. this is reflected in the attitude of the chairman of the foundation towards the citizens of the foundation. Where the principal always pays attention to the welfare of teachers, pays attention to the quality and continuity of learning both in schools and in Islamic boarding schools. The principal takes an emotional approach to all residents in the school environment. This is very helpful for the principal in understanding the problems faced both from planning, organizing, implementing and supervising the organization as an institution that oversees education which consists of 6 schools and 4 Islamic boarding schools based on Islamic law.
