Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of multidisciplinary-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) that integrates reason, revelation, and moral values, as well as to evaluate its implementation within the context of contemporary Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes both classical and modern literature on Islamic educational thought and integrative learning models. The findings reveal that the integration of reason and revelation forms a vital foundation for a holistic and contextual Islamic education framework. Reason serves as a tool for interpreting reality, while revelation offers absolute normative guidance, both of which are essential for a reflective and critical learning process. Furthermore, moral values emerge as the culmination of internalization derived from the harmony of rationality and spirituality. Contextual and experiential moral education proves to be more effective in shaping students' character than purely cognitive approaches. This research concludes that a multidisciplinary approach in Islamic Religious Education offers a transformative model to address moral degradation, value disorientation, and spiritual dryness in the modern era. Hence, the reconstruction of Islamic education towards a holistic, dialogical, and character-oriented paradigm is a strategic necessity in today’s educational landscape.
