Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the strategies implemented by school principals in improving teacher competency at ZAD IQBS Cianjur Middle School. Teacher competency is a key factor in the success of the learning process, so efforts to improve it become an important part of school management. The focus of this research includes strategies for planning, implementing and evaluating teacher competency improvement programs. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews with school principals and teachers, observation of school activities, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out through a process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the principal of ZAD IQBS Cianjur Middle School implements several main strategies, including: routine coaching through academic supervision activities, internal training through the school MGMP forum, providing reward-based motivation and performance evaluation, as well as facilitating teacher professional development through external training. This strategy has been proven to be able to improve teachers' pedagogical, professional, social and personality competencies in a sustainable manner. These findings emphasize the importance of the leadership role of school principals in encouraging improvements in teacher quality and the quality of education in schools.
