STRATEGI KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA GURU DI SMP AL-WILDAN ISLAMIC SCHOOL 10 JAKARTA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2024-2025
Abstract
This research aims to describe the leadership strategies of school principals in improving teacher performance in the school environment. Optimal teacher performance is an important factor in improving the quality of education. School principals have a strategic role in creating a conducive work environment, providing motivation, and developing teacher competency through various leadership approaches. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with school principals and teachers, and documentation. The research subjects were the principal and several teachers at one of the junior high schools in City X. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that school principals implement various leadership strategies, including transformational leadership, modeling, training and professional development, and an open communication approach. This strategy has proven to be effective in increasing teacher morale, discipline and responsibility in carrying out teaching duties. Apart from that, student academic achievement has also increased as a result of improvements in teacher performance.
