Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of academic supervision carried out by the head of the madrasa in improving the professional competence of teachers at MA Al Ittihadiyah Way Sulan. The focus of this research includes the planning, implementation, and follow-up of academic supervision to enhance the quality of learning conducted by teachers. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects consist of the head of the madrasa and two teachers as primary data sources, as well as supporting documents as secondary data. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and verification, leading to conclusions. The research findings indicate that the head of the madrasa has systematically conducted academic supervision, from the planning stage to the follow-up of the supervision results. However, several aspects still need improvement, particularly in mastering teaching materials, utilizing learning media, and applying more varied and effective teaching methods. Academic supervision has proven to play an essential role in enhancing teachers' professional competence, making continuous evaluation and guidance necessary to ensure optimal learning quality at MA Al Ittihadiyah Way Sulan
