Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the importance of hadith in the context of advancing Islamic education. The form of this research is qualitative with a library research strategy. Research data is in the form of information from primary sources such as books and relevant periodicals regarding the urgency of hadith in the framework of creating Islamic educational knowledge. Documentation studies are used to carry out data collection strategies. Literature and periodicals related to the importance of hadith in the context of advancing Islamic education are the main data sources for researchers. As previously explained, hadith are very important for the development of Islamic education because they can realize education as a complete and comprehensive mercy li al-alamin and cover all aspects of humanity and the desire to do good and avoid bad deeds; can actualize the Prophet as a role model for educational subjects; and at a practical level, educational goals are realized in educational activities that follow the results of ideas and concepts developed while still upholding the principles of Islamic teachings. The need for hadith in the framework of creating Islamic education requires that educational concepts and practices be comprehensive. Islamic education must be able to help society achieve its maximum potential. Islamic education aims to build personality potential as well as social and individual aspects of tawazun—namely human potential—in an effort to realize humanity. So that humans can carry out their role as caliphs on earth and as servants of Allah, completeness and balance are very important
