MANAJEMEN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER POSITIF SISWA DI SD NEGERI 38 TALANG UBI
Abstract
The formation of students' character fundamentally does not emphasize only on their cognitive and psychomotor domains, but rather, the primary focus lies on character education in the affective domain. Therefore, in building character in schols, the key element to be done is to employ good character education management. This research adopts a qualitative approach, specifically descriptive research. Data sources include primary data from the school principal, teachers, and the public, as well as several students at SDN 38 Talang Ubi; secondary data consist of literature and written data related to assessing the formation of students' character at SDN 38 Talang Ubi. Data collection techniques involve observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Data analysis in this research utilizes domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, and componential analysis techniques. The research findings indicate characteristics of students' character at SDN 38 Talang Ubi, including enthusiasm, responsibility, mutual respect, discipline, and politeness through the development of school culture, resulting in fundamental changes in character among students. The development of culture aimed at shaping students' character is integrated into all teaching and learning activities across the curriculum. The implementation of process management involves several stages: firstly, managing character education planning through curriculum development; secondly, organizing by holding meetings at the beginning of each year to distribute teachers' tasks; thirdly, implementing education developed within the curriculum; and fourthly, evaluation conducted through analysis and assessment in the form of attention and supervision, as well as taking follow-up actions for students who cannot be managed through attention and warnings.
