Abstract

The main objectives in this study are 1) to describe the picture of a positive environmental culture at Ibnu Hajar  Junior High Boarding School, 2) to describe the principal's strategy in implementing a positive environmental culture at Ibnu Hajar Junior High Boarding School, 3) to describe the impact of the successful application of a positive environmental culture  at  Ibnu Hajar Junior High Boarding School. In this study, researchers used field research in the form of qualitative. Data collection methods used include; 1) interview, 2) observation, 3) documentation. The collected documents were analyzed to obtain research findings. This is analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data and drawing conclusions. The findings of this research show that: Firstly, the positive environmental culture at Ibnu Hajar Junior High Boarding School emphasizes more on routine activities that become daily habits such as praying and reading the Qur'an before studying, praying in congregation, reading arbain hadith, dhikr, habituation of 6S and the application of BINS, namely clean, beautiful, comfortable and healthy; Secondly, the principal strategies in implementing a positive environmental culture at Ibnu Hajar Junior High Boarding School are through the programs of a) strategic planning, b) exemplary, c) habituation and youth, d) monitoring and evaluation of programs that have been carried out. Thirdly, the impact of the success of a positive environmental culture at  Ibnu Hajar Junior High Boarding School is it’is not only the attitude and behavior of the students, but also its impact is for teachers and parents.
