Abstract

his study aims to find out: 1) To find out the patterns of interpersonal communication between school principals and teachers orally in "Patterns of Interpersonal Communication of Principals Case Studies at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Academic Year 2022/2023" 2) To find out the pattern of interpersonal communication between school principals and teachers in writing at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, 2022/2023 Academic Year. 3) To find out the effectiveness of the pattern of interpersonal communication of school principals at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, for the 2022/2023 Academic Year”

This research is a descriptive research using a qualitative approach, with data sources from school principals and teachers at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, 2021/2022 Academic Year. Researchers used the method of observation, interviews and documentation to collect the data needed in this study. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis which includes: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.

From the results of the study it is known that the pattern of interpersonal communication at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra for the 2022/2023 Academic Year, which includes: (1) Patterns of interpersonal communication between the Principal and the teacher verbally at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi, Pemulutan District, Regency Ogan Ilir South Sumatra The principal's oral communication pattern is carried out face to face directly with the teacher walking in one direction through greetings, direct directions both in meetings and in the daily work environment in an effort to improve teacher performance. (2) The principal's written communication patterns are carried out through written means such as official letters used to instruct teachers when there are routine meeting activities. In addition to official letters, written communications are also delivered using applications such as SMS and Whatsapp. (3) The effectiveness of the principal's interpersonal communication patterns at MTs Masdarul Ulum Teluk Kecapi, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Interpersonal communication by school principals through the dimensions of effective interpersonal communication (openness, empathy, support, being positive/positivity, similarity, audible, and humble) has been quite effective. In terms of implementation, the pattern of oral communication is more effectively applied. This is because the pattern of oral communication is easier to understand, is open, there is reciprocity between the principal as the transmitter of communication to the teacher as the recipient of information.
