PERANAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI KERJA GURU DI SEKOLAH DASAR NEGERI

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the role of the principal in increasing the work motivation of teachers at MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin. The design in this study was field research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. 1) The role of the principal is threefold, namely the driving force, directing and driving force. The school principal tries to encourage morale through a religious approach by instilling a spiritual attitude by providing good examples or examples to teachers/PTK at MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin, Bandar Lampung City. The function of the principal is also as a supervisor, the supervision used at MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin uses clinical supervision. The second role of the principal is as a motivator; 2) The teacher's work motivation at MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin is influenced by the involvement of the principal in carrying out his role as a good, wise, nurturing leader, providing motivation to subordinates and being a supervisor who is able to guide subordinates in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in order to achieve desired goal; 3) Obstacles faced by school principals in motivating the work of MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin groups due to differences in character between individuals, therefore the role of the Principal's leadership in Improving Teacher Work Motivation at MI Assalam Al-Islami Musi Banyuasin uses two approaches, namely the humanistic approach and professional approach.
