Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in motivating students to enhance their academic achievement at SMP Zaadul Maad Palembang. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as the main data collection techniques. The findings reveal that Islamic Education teachers apply various motivational strategies, including positive reinforcement, personal approaches, the use of varied teaching methods, and the creation of a religious and conducive classroom atmosphere. Teachers also provide continuous academic and spiritual guidance, which fosters students’ interest, discipline, and self-confidence in developing their achievements. Challenges identified include differences in student characteristics, limited environmental support, and inadequate learning facilities. Nevertheless, the efforts of Islamic Education teachers play a significant role in improving students’ motivation and academic performance at SMP Zaadul Maad Palembang.
