PERAN ORANGTUA DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL ANAK USIA DINI

The role of parents is an important thing to pay attention to in the emotional development of early childhood. This is because not all parents understand the importance of emotional development in early childhood. This study aims to describe the role of parents in developing emotional intelligence in early childhood in Tanjung Baru, Bukit Kemuning District, North Lampung Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach because researchers want to see the phenomenon of parents who pay attention to emotional intelligence. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses data analysis techniques developed by Miles & Huberman which sequentially contain data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data uses triangulation, namely by comparing observed data with interview results, comparing the results of the same interview at different times, and looking for data from sources other than research subjects. The results showed that the role of parents in developing emotional intelligence in early childhood includes: (1) the role of parents as educators, (2) the role of parents as caregivers, (3) the role of parents as motivators, (4) the role of parents as model.
