Abstract

Religious education efforts must be carried out wherever Muslims are, not least in schools where the majority are dominated by non-Muslim students and teachers. There are dynamics in which teachers and other students interact, as well as how these teachers interact with non-Muslim employees and teachers. This will certainly bring the teaching character and attitude of the teacher concerned, because they have to adapt to a very different environment. Referring to Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System in article 12 paragraph 1 point a concerning the right of every student to receive religious education according to his religion and taught by teachers of the same religion, as well as Government Regulation No. 55 of 2007 governing Religious Education and Education Religion, then the fulfillment of the right to obtain religious education for Muslim students in schools must be fulfilled to the fullest. In addition, that there are several characters that must be implemented by school teachers who then become learning models for students to imitate such as noble characters such as tolerant, trustworthy, sincere, patient, fair, brave and mastering managerial knowledge. The impact of the character of Muslim teachers in schools is a harmonious horizontal relationship between school members and the achievement of proud academic/cognitive achievements.
