This study aims to examine the relationship between democratic parenting style and children's independence at TK Mutiara Cempaka, Way Kandis Village, Tanjung Senang District, Bandar Lampung City, academic year 2024/2025. Children's independence is a crucial aspect of early childhood development, significantly influenced by parental parenting styles. Democratic parenting, which emphasizes two-way communication, respect for children's opinions, and balanced freedom and control, is believed to enhance children's independence. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach. The sample consists of 40 children and their parents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a democratic parenting questionnaire completed by parents and observations of children's independence at the kindergarten. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson's product-moment correlation. The results show a positive and significant relationship between democratic parenting style and children's independence at TK Mutiara Cempaka (r = 0.65; p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the application of democratic parenting by parents, the higher the children's independence level. The study suggests that parents and educators at TK Mutiara Cempaka should enhance democratic parenting to support the development of children's independence from an early age.
