Kemampuan Motorik Kasar Dan Penerapan Permainan Tradisional Pada Anak Usia Dini Di Tk Cahaya Mandiri Branti Raya Lampung Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of traditional games on the gross motor skills of early childhood children at TK Cahaya Mandiri Brati Raya, South Lampung, in the 2024/2025 academic year. Gross motor skills are one of the essential aspects of development that must be optimally stimulated from an early age, as they affect children’s physical abilities, coordination, and independence. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and learning activities that incorporated traditional games such as hopscotch (engklek), gobak sodor, and bakiak. The results of the study indicate that traditional games significantly improve children’s gross motor abilities. Children became more physically active, showed better body balance, and demonstrated more coordinated movements. In addition, traditional games positively affected children's social interactions, such as cooperation and adherence to rules. This study concludes that traditional games are effective and enjoyable educational tools to stimulate gross motor development in early childhood. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and early childhood education institutions continue to utilize traditional games as part of an active, contextual, and culturally based learning process.
