Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Integrated Natural Science (JINS) undergo a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation cycle to ensure complete objectivity, academic integrity, and fairness.

Evaluation Workflow:

  1. Initial Desk Screening: The Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor assess thematic relevance, adherence to guidelines, and similarity screening via Turnitin (≤ 20%). Submissions failing baseline criteria are desk rejected.
  2. Double-Blind Review: Qualified manuscripts are routed to at least two (2) independent external peer reviewers with verified scholarly expertise in integrated science, science education, physics, chemistry, biology, or environmental sciences.
  3. Assessment Dimensions: Originality, methodological soundness, analytical depth, literature recency (≥ 80% primary journal articles from the past 5-10 years), and clarity.
  4. Editorial Decision: Accept Submission, Revisions Required (Minor), Resubmit for Review (Major), or Decline Submission.
  5. Production & Archiving: Copyediting, XML/PDF formatting, DOI assignment, and biannual release.

The typical manuscript review timeline spans 4 to 6 weeks.
