IMPLEMENTASI METODE YANBU'A DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA AL QURAN DI MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH AL-HIKMAH ARGOMULYO KECAMATAN MUARA SUGIHAN KABUPATEN BANYUASIN

Abstrak

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Yanbu’a method in improving Qur’an reading skills among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Hikmah Argomulyo, Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency. The research is grounded in the importance of early Qur’an literacy as the foundation for forming a faithful Muslim personality, as well as the need for Islamic primary schools to adopt systematic and developmentally appropriate teaching methods. The Yanbu’a method was selected because of its structured approach, emphasis on tartil, accuracy in articulation (makhraj), reading precision, and gradual sequencing of materials that align well with the learning stages of children. This qualitative descriptive study collected data through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and school leaders, and documentation such as assessment records and Yanbu’a learning guides. Data analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Yanbu’a method at MI Al-Hikmah aligns with the official guidelines, including the use of tiered learning booklets, a combination of classical and individual learning strategies, and weekly evaluations to assess students’ progress. The results show that the Yanbu’a method significantly improves students’ Qur’an reading skills, particularly in fluency, articulation accuracy, and recognition of basic tajwid rules. Supporting factors include teachers’ competence gained through training, adequate learning facilities, and parental involvement in students’ home practice. Challenges encountered include varying initial student abilities, limited instructional time, and inconsistent practice outside school hours. Overall, the Yanbu’a method proves to be an effective approach for enhancing Qur’an reading skills at the primary school level.
