UPAYA GURU PAI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS SHALAT BERJAMA'AH PESERTA DIDIK SDN 06 MUARA SUGIHAN KABUPATEN BANYUASIN

Abstrak

This study aims to explore in depth the efforts made by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in improving the quality of congregational prayer performance among students at SDN 06 Muara Sugihan, Banyuasin Regency. The research is motivated by the phenomenon that some students still lack sufficient awareness, discipline, and concentration during congregational prayers. Therefore, the role of PAI teachers as educators and spiritual guides is crucial in shaping students’ religious character. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study investigates the strategies implemented by teachers and the students’ responses toward religious habituation activities conducted within the school environment. The findings reveal that PAI teachers apply various strategies, including modeling proper prayer behavior, establishing daily congregational prayer routines, providing step-by-step guidance on correct prayer movements, offering religious motivation and advice, and conducting direct supervision of students’ discipline. Additionally, collaboration with classroom teachers, parents, and the school administration helps create a religious atmosphere that supports students’ spiritual development. These efforts contribute significantly to improving students’ understanding, discipline, and the overall quality of their prayer performance. The study also identifies supporting factors such as a religious school environment, adequate prayer facilities, and structured religious habituation programs, which positively influence students’ congregational prayer quality. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include students’ varying levels of awareness, diverse family backgrounds, and limited supervision outside school hours. Overall, this research highlights the essential role of PAI teachers in enhancing students’ religious character through continuous guidance in congregational prayer practices.
