Abstrak

A learning model that is appropriate to the subject matter greatly determines the level of success of students in understanding the lesson. In this case, the teacher plays an important role as a facilitator in determining the learning model in forming students' quality thinking patterns, understanding and reasoning abilities. So there is a need for a learning model that is seen to be able to help teachers in the teaching and learning process. Reasoning ability is one of the things that students must have when learning mathematics. This is because the reasoning process is an essential aspect or part of mathematical thinking. One of the low mathematical reasoning abilities of class V students at MI Al-Islam Bina Karya Putra, Rumbia District, is caused by teachers who still apply conventional models where almost all learning activities are teacher-centred, so that students only memorize formulas without understanding the concepts. This research is quantitative research. The research method used in this research is Quasi Experimental Design. The research design used was a nonequivalent control group design using pretest and posttest. The population in this study were all class V students at MI Al-Islam Bina Karya Putra. The data collection technique used was a test of students' mathematical reasoning abilities and documentation, while the research instruments after the pretest and posttest data were collected, then analyzed the average N-Gain value with statistical analysis using normality, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test.
