Peningkatan Motivasi Belajar Melalui Metode Pembelajaran Cooperative Learning Tipe Snowball Trowing Pada Mata Pelajaran IPA Kelas 5 Min 6 Way Halim

Abstrak

Abstract Increasing learning motivation is an important aspect of effective learning, especially at the basic education level. This research aims to investigate the use of the snowball throwing type cooperative learning method in increasing learning motivation in science subjects in class 5 MIN 6 Way Halim. This learning method is expected to enable students to be more active in the learning process, as well as increase their involvement in group learning. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-test post-test control group design.The subjects of this research were grade 5 students at MIN 6 Way Halim who were divided into two groups: the experimental group who received learning using the snowball throwing type cooperative learning method, and the control group who received conventional learning. The data collection instrument used was a valid and reliable learning motivation questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.The research results showed that there was a significant increase in the learning motivation of students who received learning using the snowball throwing cooperative learning method compared to the control group. Students demonstrated a higher level of engagement in learning, as well as showing greater interest in understanding science material. In addition, students also showed improvements in cooperation and communication skills between classmates.These findings indicate that the use of the snowball throwing type of cooperative learning method can be an effective alternative in increasing students' learning motivation in science subjects at the primary education level. The implication of this research is the importance of considering the use of learning methods that pay attention to aspects of student motivation in the learning process, as well as the importance of the teacher's role in creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Future research could explore the application of this learning method in different contexts and involve broader samples.
