Abstract

This study aims to analyze various efforts to develop student skills as a form of educational empowerment in responding to the challenges of the global era. Education today is no longer limited to academic achievement but also requires students to possess practical, social, and emotional competencies that support independence and readiness for real-life situations. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that educational empowerment can be manifested through strengthening student skills in soft skills—such as communication, collaboration, leadership, and creativity—and hard skills, including technological literacy, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving abilities. These efforts are implemented through project-based learning activities, skill training programs, technology integration, and school routines that support competency enhancement. Additionally, teachers as facilitators, supportive school environments, and partnerships with the community play an essential role in reinforcing the empowerment process. The study concludes that student skill development is an effective strategy to improve educational quality, foster empowered and productive learners, and prepare students to face rapid societal and technological changes.
