Penerapan Metode Inquiry Dalam Pembelajaran Pai Dan Dampaknya Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa Di SMP Islam Kebumen

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the inquiry method in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and its impact on students’ learning motivation at SMP Islam Kebumen. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The participants consisted of PAI teachers, eighth-grade students, and school staff selected using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that the inquiry method was implemented through initial questioning, investigative activities, group discussions, analysis of Qur’anic and Hadith texts, and presentation of findings. The implementation of inquiry successfully created an active, engaging, and challenging learning atmosphere. Moreover, the results show that students’ learning motivation increased, as indicated by higher enthusiasm, curiosity, active participation, and a better understanding of PAI material. Thus, the inquiry method has a positive impact on students’ motivation and enhances the quality of their learning experiences
