Peran Ekstrakurikuler dalam Membentuk Kemandirian dan Kreativitas Siswa Kelas V MI Al-Azhar Center Baturaja

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to investigate the role of extracurricular activities in shaping the independence and creativity of fifth grade students at MI Al-Azhar Center Baturaja. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Research participants consisted of fifth grade students, teachers and extracurricular managers. The research results show that extracurricular activities have a significant role in increasing student independence through developing social skills, leadership and the ability to think independently. Apart from that, through extracurricular activities, students can also hone their creativity by exploring various activities and ideas. These findings support child development theory which states that experiences outside the classroom have a positive impact on the formation of students' character and skills. The implication of this research is the importance of developing planned and structured extracurricular programs to increase student independence and creativity in elementary schools. Future research can further examine the factors that influence the effectiveness of extracurricular activities in achieving the goal of building student character. It is hoped that this research can contribute to improving the quality of education at the elementary level, especially in terms of forming student independence and creativity.
