Abstract
This study aims to explore the fifth-grade students' ability at MI SDTQ Ats-Tsaqib to find the main idea of paragraphs through a constructivist approach. Referring to constructivist theory, learning is an active process in which students build their own knowledge. In the context of learning Indonesian, the ability to find the main idea of a paragraph is a crucial skill that underlies reading comprehension. The methodology used in this research is qualitative research with a case study approach where data is collected from observations, interviews, and document analysis. The research results show that the application of the constructivist approach significantly improves students' abilities to find the main idea of paragraphs. This research is expected to contribute to the development of more effective learning strategies at the elementary education level.
