PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM (PAI) DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER PESERTA DIDIK DI MI TAHFIDZ BABUL HIKMAH KALIANDA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2022/2023

Abstract

The success of education educates its students to become intelligent human beings and also builds their personality so that they have noble character. Therefore character education is certainly important for all levels. Character education starts from an early age, if a person's character has been formed early on, then when he becomes an adult it is not easy to change even though the temptations come so tempting. Based on the results of observations at MI Tahdidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda, there are still many students who are not optimal, therefore researchers are interested in examining how "The Role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in Shaping the Character of Students at MI Tahfidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda Academic Year 2022/2023. The focus of this research is what is the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping the character of students at MI Tahfidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study uses qualitative research that leads to an evaluative process of research objects. To obtain the necessary data, the authors use several data collection methods, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study note that, 1) The role played by PAI teachers in improving the character of students at MI Tahfidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda, including as: educator, tutor, leader, mentor, adviser or motivator, evaluator, coordinator, and role model; 2) PAI teachers are greatly assisted by the SOPs made by the school, including: Code of Conduc MI Tahfidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda which is a code or characteristic that contains personality that must be owned by MI Tahfidz Babul Hikmah Kalianda school students. From some of the things above, PAI teachers can shape the character of students so that they become individuals with character and achieve the expected goals and results
