Abstract

The The focus of this study examines the efforts made by extracurricular coaches in fostering the morals of students at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang City. The problems discussed in this study include various forms of PAI extracurricular activities carried out at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang City, the efforts made by PAI extracurricular activity coaches in fostering the noble character of students at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang City and the supporting and inhibiting factors of extracurricular activities PAI at Mts Negeri 2 Palembang City. To discuss the problems raised, data collection was carried out in the field using observation, documentation and interview techniques. The sources of data obtained were the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, supervisor of PAI extracurricular activities, Head of Administration and students. The collected data is then processed through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and data verification, then conclusions are drawn and analyzed qualitatively. After conducting an analysis of the data obtained, the results showed that there were 11 forms of PAI extracurricular activities developed at MTs Negeri 2 Palembang City. The efforts made by superintendents of extracurricular activities in fostering students include efforts to instill and awaken religious beliefs, instill good social ethics in the family environment, community environment and school environment and instill good habits in the form of discipline, responsibility, conducting social relations and carrying out ritual worship. The supporting factors include the PAI curriculum, supervisors and school members, and the role of parents. Inhibiting factors which include internal factors in the form of a less harmonious relationship between coaches and the existence of coaches who lack a sense of belonging to ROHIS. The external factors include the family environment, community environment and modern globalization.
