Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Role Playing Method in increasing understanding of the subject of Islamic cultural history in class VII students at MTs Hidayatul Mubtadiin Sidoharjo Jati Agung Lampung Selatan for the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is field research (field research). This research is a descriptive-qualitative research. Sources of data in this study were obtained from teachers of class VII A, students of class VII A and the Head of the Madrasah and Deputy Head of Curriculum Mts Hidayatul Mubtadiin. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, interview and documentation methods. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study showed that the teacher had implemented the Role Playing Method in increasing students' understanding of the Islamic cultural history subject for class VII at MTs Hidayatul Mubtadiin Sidoharjo Jati Agung South Lampung in 2021/2022 through three stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage.
