Abstract

Education has a very important role in forming future generations. In this context, school principals have a big responsibility in managing and improving teachers' professional competence. This research was conducted at IDN Boarding School Jonggol with the aim of identifying and analyzing the principal's strategies in improving teacher professional competence. The research method used is a case study involving observation, interviews and document analysis. The research sample consisted of school principals, teachers and school management staff. The data obtained was analyzed using a qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the strategy implemented. The research results show that the principal at IDN Boarding School Jonggol has implemented various strategies to improve teacher professional competence. This involves developing training programs, mentoring, supervision and collaboration between teachers. The principal also plays an active role in providing emotional and motivational support to teachers. However, several challenges were also identified in improving the professional competence of teachers at IDN Boarding School Jonggol, some of which came from the teacher personally and some came from external sources. Therefore, this research provides recommendations for further development, including increasing access to resources, integrating technology in learning, and developing more effective mentoring models.
