Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing competency-based performance management in improving student achievement in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMK N 1 Bakauheni. The research method used is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The research participants were students of SMK N 1 Bakauheni who took Islamic Religious Education subjects. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. Research instruments include pre- and post-tests, learning plans, competency assessment scales, and direct observation. The research results show that the implementation of competency-based performance management significantly increases student achievement, understanding of Islamic religious concepts, and student learning motivation. The conclusion of this research is that the competency-based performance management approach is effective in improving student achievement in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMK N 1 Bakauheni, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of Islamic religious education in vocational high schools.
