Abstract

The focus of this research is the leadership of the Principal in Improving Teacher Performance at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Metro City. The sub-focus is discipline, responsibility, a sense of pride in one's profession or work and the hard work of the head of SD Muhammadiyah Metro City. The aim of this research is to determine the leadership of school principals in improving teacher performance at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Metro City. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research, namely a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from the people and actors observed, directed from the background of the individual as a whole (holistic) without isolating the individual and the organization in variables but looking at them. as part of a whole. In data collection techniques in this research, various techniques were used, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis procedure used in this research is qualitative analysis. The results of research on teacher performance showed that after receiving guidance and direction from the Principal of Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Metro City, it turned out that the teacher's abilities were much better than before.
