Abstract
The logical consequence of the enactment of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 22 of 1999 concerning Regional Government, Government Regulation No. 25 concerning the Authority of the Government (Center) and the Authority of the Province as Autonomous Regions, and empirical evidence indicating that centralized management is one of the factors causing suboptimal school performance is the need for the implementation of school-based management (SBM). The essence of SBM is school autonomy plus decision-making in education within the framework of regional autonomy. This research employs a qualitative research approach, with data analysis aiming to organize data, including identification, classification, interpretation, and conclusion. The research findings reveal that the implementation of SBM at Muhammadiyah Palembang Vocational High School is carried out through deliberation involving the participation of all school stakeholders, including teachers, students, parents, and members of the local community. The coordinator's task, responsible for coordinating the implementation of SBM, lies with the school principal. Regarding the issue of SBM implementation, it occurs once a year during the annual program planning meeting at Muhammadiyah Palembang Vocational High School
