Abstract

Science and technology are increasingly developing rapidly, both directly and indirectly, greatly influencing the development of education. Therefore, the quality of education must be improved, especially the Knowledge of Faith and Morals. This research aims to describe the implementation of active learning in improving students' learning achievement in the subject of moral beliefs at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Hikmah Balekencono, Batang Hari District, East Lampung Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative field research because it tries to explain the role and success of learning moral beliefs using active learning strategies. Data collection methods used include observation, interviews and documentation. Problems found in the classroom in the learning process include students who are slow to learn, low learning achievement, dependent, less responsive and less active. Other symptoms can be seen from educators using strategies and learning methods that are not optimal. Learning that does not pay attention to individual differences in students based on the wishes of educators will make it difficult to direct students towards achieving learning goals. Once implemented optimally, active learning strategies will get a good response from students. This is shown by the increase in student responses at each meeting. And more and more students are getting scores above the predetermined standard scores.
