The background to this research is that solving learning problems should be a joint task. The Yogyakarta government has an obligation to foster and develop quality education for society as a whole, including in remote areas. However, in reality, Yogyakarta, which is known as a student city or education city, is not as ideal as people imagine according to the general picture. Because on the other hand, there are still madrasas located in remote areas. This is proven by the existence of several teachers who receive remote salaries. With all the existing limitations and problems, MTs Negeri Sidoharjo Kulon Progo has the aim of forming students into human beings who have noble character and practice religious values in everyday life. The research results show: (1) The implementation of PAI learning at MTs Negeri Sidoharjo Kulon Progo uses KTSP (Education Unit Level Curriculum) where the time allocation is 40 minutes per trip. The methods used are quite varied, namely lectures, questions and answers, giving assignments, discussions, making meaning. (2) Problems faced in the PAI learning process include the availability of infrastructure in remote areas, the ability to master subject matter, heterogeneous backgrounds of student graduates, interests and motivation, lack of attention from parents and an environment that does not support religious deepening. (3) Efforts made to overcome several problems faced include providing students with motivation and interest in learning, training students to write and copy material, adding learning resources, using more varied methods
