Abstract

The world of Islamic religious education undergoes a number of significant shifts on a regular basis; consequently, in order to keep up with these shifts, it is necessary to develop a suitable curriculum that is supported by a solid foundation. In order to ensure that the direction of development goals is understood, it is essential that the appropriate principles be applied when designing the curriculum for religious education. Islam. This piece of writing is to examine how the contribution of the principles of curriculum development is applied to the process of developing the curriculum for Islamic religious education. This form of writing use a literature review as a means of managing data, with descriptive analysis being provided in a manner that is both methodical and objective. The findings of the research led to the formulation of five guiding principles that were utilized in the production of the PAI educational program. Theological principles, philosophical principles, psychological principles, sociocultural principles, scientific and technological principles, and other types of principles are included in this category. The application of these five principles includes the theological principles by utilizing the Al-Quran and Hadith, the philosophical principles by utilizing a combination of concepts from different philosophical schools, the psychological principles by determining abilities according to the level, the socio-cultural principles by emphasizing cultural recognition, and the principles of science and technology by maximizing the development of technology towards Learning Activities. This study came to the conclusion that the application of the principles of curriculum development contributes to the theoretical and practical development of the Islamic religious education curriculum and can be a complement to the authorities in making decisions about the Islamic religious education curriculum. This conclusion was reached as a result of the findings of this study
