MANAJEMEN SUMBER DAYA GURU DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER GUNA PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER PESERTA DIDIK DI SMA NEGERI 2 BANDAR LAMPUNG
Abstract
The process of coaching students through extracurricular activities has an important role in building the character of students. This is because extracurricular activities are a vehicle for channeling talents and interests that function to optimally develop the potential, abilities, personality, cooperation and independence of students in order to support the achievement of educational goals. Therefore, the success achieved by Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Ikhlas Tanjung Bintang in developing extracurricular activities in building the character of students received much support from the madrasa community, was in great demand by students, and made this Islamic educational institution better known and gained public trust, and This is inseparable from the efforts to implement good management in managing these educational activities.
This study aims to obtain a detailed description of: (1) Planning extracurricular activities in the formation of student character (2) Organizing extracurricular activities in the formation of student character (3) Directing extracurricular activities in building student character and (4) Controlling extracurricular activities in the formation of the character of students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Ikhlas Tanjung Bintang. This study used a qualitative approach, a type of phenomenological research, and a descriptive analysis method. Data collection techniques were carried out by; participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The process of data analysis is carried out starting from; data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Test the validity of the data by triangulation and member checks.
The results of this study are (1) Planning of extracurricular activities in the formation of students' character is carried out in the form of compiling extracurricular activities programs which are then used as a reference in their implementation. (2) Organizing extracurricular activities in building the character of students as a whole is integrated in the organization. The organizing process consists of; determination of resources, division of tasks according to their areas of expertise, determined by the Principal's Decree, forming the character of students through routine activities, exemplary, spontaneous action, and conditioning. (3) Directing extracurricular activities to ensure that the implementation of activities is directed, the objectives are set in the planning. The briefing process includes; implementation of activities according to plan, activity patterns include (introduction, core, closing), teacher/coach prioritizing exemplary, effective leadership, solving problems together, commitment to tasks, functions and roles, (4) Control of extracurricular activities in the formation of student character implemented through; monitoring, assessment, and reporting. The control process includes; monitoring the implementation of activities, evaluating activities through process assessment and evaluating results, the majority of students obtained satisfactory results, but still need to optimize the existing elements in planning, organizing, directing and controlling them, and efforts need to be made to increase the readiness of the supporting component factors.
