PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM PEMBINAAN AKHLAK PESERTA DIDIK DI SMP TARUNA ISLAM TANGKERANG TIMUR KECAMATAN TENAYAN RAYA KOTA PEKANBARU TAHUN PELAJARAN 2022/2023

Abstract

Education educates its students to become intelligent human beings and also builds their personality so that they have noble character. Therefore character education is certainly important for all levels, from elementary school to university. In general, character education starts from an early age, if a person's character has been formed early on, then when he becomes an adult he will not change easily even though temptation or seduction comes so tempting. With character education from an early age, it is hoped that it will be able to produce superior alumni, namely children of the nation who are faithful, pious, have noble character, have expertise in their fields and have character. Based on the results of observations at the Pekanbaru Islamic Taruna Middle School, there are still many students who have not been maximized, therefore it can be seen that the character description of the Pekanbaru Islamic Taruna Middle School students, therefore researchers are interested in researching how "The Role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in Developing Participant Morals" Educate at East Tangkerang Islamic Taruna Middle School, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.The focus of this research is what is the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in shaping the character of students at SMP Taruna Islam Pekanbaru for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study uses qualitative research which leads to an evaluative process of the object of research. To obtain the necessary data, the authors use several methods of data collection, namely the method of observation, interviews and documentation.As for the implementation of character building for SMP Taruna Islam Pekanbaru students, PAI teachers are greatly helped by the SOPs made by the school, including: first, namely nine aspects of the superior curriculum of SMP Taruna Islam Pekanbaru which are applied in subjects. Second, the Code of Conduc of SMP Taruna Islam Pekanbaru, which is a code or characteristic that contains personality that must be owned by students at SMP Taruna Islam Pekanbaru. Third, EA (Excel Appreciation), namely points given to students and are a consequence of the actions of students who violate school rules by deducting points every time they violate. From some of the things above, PAI teachers will find it very easy to shape the character of students so that they become individuals with character and achieve the goals and expected results.
