Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research, namely a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from the people and actors observed, directed from the background of the individual as a whole (holistic) without isolating individuals and their organizations in variables but looking at them. as part of a whole. In data collection techniques in this study used various techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis procedure used in this research is qualitative analysis. The head of the madrasa as a supervisor, he must be able to supervise and control to improve the function of education. Teacher performance can also be interpreted as the teacher's work performance to achieve, among other things, determined by ability and effort. The teacher's work performance can be seen from how far the teacher has completed his teaching duties compared to work standards. The teacher's performance ability can also be interpreted as an achievement of the goals of the teacher himself as well as the educational and teaching goals of the Madrasah where the teacher teaches. At the implementation stage of supervision, the Madrasah Principal chooses a form of class observation that aims to improve the teacher's ability in the learning process. The Madrasah head sits in the back row of seats to pay attention and record various events during the learning process and record them in detail so that accurate results are obtained. Furthermore, with regard to the performance of the Islamic Religious Education teacher, information was obtained that after receiving guidance and direction from the Head of Madrasah Aliyah Madrasah Unit New Filial MAN Golden Prawn Bengkong Laut, Bengkong Batam it turned out that the teacher's ability was much better than before, as in terms of student mastery, when the Head of Madrasah has not supervised the teacher feels he does not have indicators that can assess ability in class mastery, after the presence of supervision in class and observing the learning process the teacher knows weaknesses and weaknesses in class mastery so that the results of teaching supervision are used as a tool for self-improvement
