Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of emotional intelligence (EQ)-based leadership at Lembaga Diniyyah Nurul Huda, Lampung Barat. In the context of Islamic educational institutions, effective leadership is determined not only by intellectual ability but also by a leader’s capacity to understand, manage, and direct both personal and others’ emotions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the institution’s leaders, teachers, and staff. The results indicate that leaders’ emotional intelligence significantly contributes to fostering harmonious interpersonal relationships, creating a conducive work environment, and enhancing teachers’ motivation and performance. Moreover, EQ-based leadership helps develop a collaborative and spiritually oriented organizational culture. Therefore, leadership that integrates emotional and spiritual dimensions proves to be more effective in achieving the goals of Islamic educational institutions
