IMPLEMENTASI MANAJEMEN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA GURU SMA NEGERI 1 SEKINCAU LAMPUNG BARAT

This study aims to analyze the implementation of principal management in improving teacher performance at SMA Negeri 1 Sekincau, West Lampung Regency. Teacher performance is a crucial factor in determining the quality of education in schools. As an educational leader, the principal holds a strategic role in directing, motivating, and empowering teachers to achieve optimal educational goals. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, vice principals, and several teachers as key informants. The results reveal that the implementation of principal management at SMA Negeri 1 Sekincau is carried out through managerial functions such as planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. The principal actively designs teacher development programs, creates a positive working climate, and conducts regular academic supervision. Challenges faced include limited supporting facilities and inconsistent teacher discipline. However, through effective communication and continuous coaching, the principal successfully enhances teachers’ motivation and commitment to their professional dutie. In conclusion, the principal’s management at SMA Negeri 1 Sekincau has been effectively implemented and has positively impacted teacher performance. The study recommends improving educational facilities, providing continuous professional development, and strengthening collaboration between the principal and teachers to achieve higher educational quality
