Penerapan Active Learning Dalam Meningkatkan Efektifitas Pembelajaran PAI di SMPIT Citra Insani Rawajitu Selatan Tulang Bawang

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Active Learning strategy in improving the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMPIT Citra Insani, Gedung Karyajitu Village, Rawajitu Selatan District, Tulang Bawang Regency during the 2025/2026 academic year. The background of this study arises from the low level of student engagement in PAI classes, indicated by limited participation in discussions, minimal initiative in expressing opinions, and the dominance of lecture-based instruction. By implementing Active Learning strategies, teachers attempt to create student-centered learning that promotes two-way interactions and enhances critical, collaborative, and creative thinking skills. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Active Learning effectively increases students’ learning motivation, participation in discussions, and comprehension of religious concepts. Moreover, improvements in spiritual and social attitudes were observed, reflected in their increased involvement in worship activities and cooperative behavior. This study highlights the crucial role of teachers in designing meaningful, varied, and participatory learning activities to optimize the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education in Islamic-based secondary schools.
