Efektivitas Ekstrakurikuler Pramuka Dalam Meningkatkan Kedisiplinan Pada Peserta Didik Kelas 8 Di SMP Piri Jatiagung Lampung Selatan

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Scout extracurricular program in improving the discipline of eighth-grade students at SMP PIRI, Jatiagung District, South Lampung Regency, for the 2024/2025 academic year. Discipline is a fundamental aspect of character education, reflected in students’ compliance with rules, punctuality, responsibility, and orderly behavior. The Scout program, as a nonformal character education platform, is believed to play a strategic role in instilling disciplinary values through various activities such as ceremonies, marching drills, routine scouting practices, and assignments that emphasize both personal and group discipline. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Scout extracurricular program significantly contributes to improving students’ discipline. This can be seen from increased compliance with school rules, enhanced teamwork skills, and improved responsibility in completing tasks. Supporting factors include the commitment of Scout mentors, school support, and the regular implementation of activities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited facilities, inconsistent student attendance, and time constraints. Overall, the Scout extracurricular program proves effective in fostering student discipline and should continue to be developed as a vital character-building program in schools
