Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the practice (implementation) of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) values among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Bahrul Ulum in the 2025/2026 academic year. The investigation focuses on observable forms of value practice (faith, ethics, worship routines, and social behaviors), mechanisms of internalization within the madrasah environment, and supporting and inhibiting factors. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed with data collected via participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents, and documentation of curricular and extracurricular religious activities. Findings indicate that IRE values are practiced daily through collective prayers, school etiquette routines, participation in congregational worship, and prosocial behaviors such as honesty and mutual help. Internalization processes were fostered by teacher modeling, habituation, contextualized instruction, and extracurricular religious programs. Challenges included uneven parental support, limited religious instructional resources, and uncontrolled digital media influences. The study recommends strengthening madrasah–family collaboration, enhancing PAI teachers’ capacity in value internalization methods, and developing child-friendly contextual learning media to better support the practice of Islamic values among primary-level learners.
