Abstract

Applying a method without using media will certainly make children bored and not enthusiastic about learning, especially young children who learn while playing, for this reason media is very important and recommended in learning. In this research, the media used is visual media, namely media that can only be seen by students. The aim of this research is to find out "Whether the application of storytelling methods through media can develop children's language in the Darul Ulum Tanjung Heran Islamic Kindergarten, Pugung District, Tanggamus Regency." The author uses qualitative methods. Data collection tools are carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of classroom action research which has been carried out through several cycles, starting from cycle I and cycle II and based on all the discussions and analyzes carried out, it can be concluded that the application of the storytelling method through the media of picture stories, dolls, creations of animal shapes made from cake mica, and planel boards can develop children's language at the Darul Ulum Islamic Kindergarten in Tanjung Heran District
