Abstract

The background of this research problem is the low learning Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model because this model is one of the models learning that encourages students to be active in learning, this model also tests students' understanding with a fun learning atmosphere, fun here means an atmosphere of learning while playing (games). The formulation of outcomes in social studies subjects, so that many students' learning outcomes have not reached KKM 70. The above conditions motivate researchers to look for solutions by implementing the the problem proposed is "Can the application of TGT type cooperative learning improve the learning outcomes of social studies subject class V MIN6 SELATAN LAMPUNG, Jati Agung sub-district, South Lampung in 2016/2017?" This research is classroom action research (PTK) where data delivery uses observation, documentation and tests. With the stages of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research subjects were class V MIN 6 students in SELATAN LAMPUNG. Data collection techniques use tests. The tests carried out by researchers used pre tests (to see students' knowledge of the material that will be presented and to divide students into groups) and post tests (to see students' abilities after the learning process using the Teams Games Tournament model). The results of the research show that the learning outcomes in Cycle I of the 21 students who completed their studies were 12 students or 57.2%, while those who did not complete their studies were 9 students or 42.8%. Meanwhile, in cycle II there was an increase in the learning outcomes of the 21 students who completed their studies by as much as 18 students or 85.7%, while those who did not complete were 3 students or 14.3%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that cooperative learning of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type can improve student learning outcomes in social studies subjects for class V MIN 6 South Lampung..
