Keywords:
teaching method, junior high school, quasi-experimental study.Abstract
This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a new teaching method implemented among eight junior high school students. Four students were assigned to the treatment group, receiving the new teaching method, while the remaining four comprised the control group, continuing with conventional teaching methods. Data collection involved direct observation, achievement tests, and student perception questionnaires. The analysis revealed significant improvements in understanding and academic achievement among students in the treatment group compared to the control group. The findings support theories emphasizing active learning, direct experience, student motivation, and cooperation in achieving learning goals. Factors such as autonomy, teacher support, and the relevance of learning materials to students' daily lives contributed to the success of the new teaching method. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and external factors influencing student learning outcomes, this study highlights the practical implications for educators. Implementing active, relevant, and inspiring teaching methods can enhance the quality of learning in classrooms. Further research with larger samples and diverse teaching methods is recommended to strengthen these findings.
