Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the agricultural sector and the manufacturing industry sector on economic growth in Central Lampung Regency during the period 2014–2025 from the perspective of Islamic economics. Central Lampung Regency is one of the regions with significant economic potential in Lampung Province, particularly in the agricultural sector as the primary sector and the manufacturing industry as the secondary sector that plays an important role in increasing the added value of agricultural products. Economic growth is not only measured by the increase in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) but also must reflect the principles of justice, sustainability, and social welfare as emphasized in Islamic economics. This research employs a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of the agricultural sector and the manufacturing industry sector on regional economic growth. The data used are secondary data in the form of GRDP at constant prices by industrial origin, obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Central Lampung Regency and Lampung Province during the study period. The results indicate that the agricultural sector has a significant effect on economic growth, as it absorbs a large portion of the workforce and serves as the main source of income for the local population. Meanwhile, the manufacturing industry sector also has a positive and significant influence, particularly in enhancing value-added agricultural products and encouraging regional economic diversification. From the perspective of Islamic economics, economic growth supported by the agricultural and manufacturing sectors aligns with the principles of maslahah (public interest), distributive justice, and balance between material and spiritual dimensions. The agricultural sector represents the productive and sustainable utilization of natural resources, while the manufacturing industry sector promotes efficiency, value-added creation, and income distribution. Therefore, the synergy between the agricultural sector and the manufacturing industry is expected to foster inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economic growth in accordance with Islamic economic values in Central Lampung Regency.
