Abstract

In the teaching and learning process to achieve
student learning outcomes, it is not only determined by
the school, pattern, structure, and content of the
curriculum, but it requires the professional competence of
teachers who teach, educate and guide them, this is in
accordance with the opinion that: "The duties of teachers
as a profession include educating, teaching, and training
The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach
with a correlational research design, because this study
seeks to examine the relationship between student
learning motivation (Y) and personal competence (X1)
and teacher professional (X2) at SMA Way Halim class
X. From the results of the research and discussion, it can
be concluded as follows: (1) the personal competence of
Way Halim High School teachers is in the moderate
category which means that teachers have not displayed
optimally their personal competencies to be able to
increase student learning motivation, (2) the professional
competence of Way Halim High School teachers is in the
medium category which means that teachers have not
shown optimally their professional competencies to be
able to increase learning motivation and streamline
learning on student
