Abstract

This study intends to describe the efforts of Aqidah Akhlak teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin in implementing self-control (self-control) in class X science students. This thesis is based on a qualitative study that employs the descriptive technique. Observation, interviewing, and documentation procedures are used to obtain documents. The findings revealed that the efforts of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in implementing self-control (self-control) in class X Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin can be seen through three aspects of self-control (self-control), namely, First, cognitive control (knowledge control) is carried out through active learning with classroom-based assessment accompanied by remedial and enrichment programs, and second, behavioral control (behavioral control) is carried out, Second, religious activities that can influence children's character, especially in terms of behavior, such as Dzuhur and Asr prayers in congregation, cult following Asr prayer, and so on, are used to manage behavior (behavioral control). Third, religious activities are used to exercise choice control (decision control). It incorporates religious principles that can assist kids in determining which actions will result in positive or negative outcomes. There was an increase in student self-control as a result of the Aqidah Akhlak teacher's efforts, as evidenced by changes in student behavior, such as those who initially did religious activities out of compulsion, just to get good grades, and still felt under supervision, but once they become officers in religious activities, they are required to be responsible and aware that they are under supervision. so that students may maintain self-control and set a good example for their peers, and are more thoughtful in determining which activities to engage in, which activities will lead to positive or negative outcomes, and carry out their responsibilities as students enthusiastically and without coercion.
