UPAYA KEPALA SEKOLAH SEBAGAI SUPERVISOR PENDIDIKAN DALAM MEMBINA DAN MENINGKATKAN PROFESIONALITAS GURU MTS MIFTAHUL JANNAH KECAMATAN BENGKUNAT KABUPATEN PESISIR BARAT TAHUN 2024/2025
Abstract
The principal plays a strategic role as an educational supervisor in fostering and enhancing teacher professionalism to achieve optimal educational quality. This study aims to analyze the efforts of the principal in carrying out educational supervision functions at MTs Miftahul Jannah, Bengkunat District, Pesisir Barat Regency, during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation.The findings indicate that the principal implements various supervision strategies, including academic and managerial supervision, continuous training, teacher performance evaluation, and strengthening a professional work culture. Challenges encountered include limited resources and teachers’ readiness to accept guidance. However, the principal’s efforts in building effective communication, providing motivation, and creating a conducive work environment have positively contributed to improving teacher professionalism.This study recommends enhancing supervision programs based on teachers' needs and gaining support from various stakeholders to strengthen educators' professionalism. Thus, it is expected that the quality of learning at MTs Miftahul Jannah will continue to improve and have a positive impact on students.
